Lighten Up! (the Background, That Is)

The dark background on this website was depressing me, so I decided to lighten it (though i kept my photo gallery dark).  In doing so, I had to change the font colors.  I’m not completely happy with the background now…  But it’s brighter than before.

I’ve been able to change most of the font colors, except for the most obvious text on the page — the title.

I’ve been able to change some things in parts of style.css below.  The green text controls the subtitle.

I can change the FONT SIZE of the title by changing the snippet in red, but for some reason, changing all of the color references has no effect on the font color that is displayed on the website.  Some other bit of code must be overwriting this…

I have a feeling it has to do something with “logo” (so Firebug tells me), but I can’t figure out where and how.  And maybe I need to learn how to properly use Firebug.

Or maybe I should start at the very beginning and properly learn php and css.  But who wants to do that?

#header { padding-top: 80px; height: 85px; position: relative; z-index: 100; }
#header .description { font-size: 16px; line-height: 1; text-transform: uppercase; color: #c1ab7d; padding-top: 5px; }
#header .description a { color: #9d6510; text-decoration: none; }

h1 { font-family: “Trebuchet MS”, Arial, Sans-Serif; font-size: 40px; line-height: 1; font-weight: bold; color: #d69959; }
h1 a { text-decoration: none; color: #d69959; }
h1 a span { color: #ffd7a5; }
h1 a:hover { text-decoration: none; }

#logo { float: left; display: inline; }
